About Mount Myrrh
Mount Myrrh is the project of Jesse West—singer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. A Jacobs School of Music alum and US Navy Band veteran, West fuses 30 years of elite performance with a DIY engineering spirit. Like a modern Santana reimagined through Liquid DnB, Jazz House and Progressive Dub, the music lives in the friction between The Grid (electronic precision) and The Grit (soulful, human blues).
The name Mount Myrrh draws from ancient botanical lore, where rare resins were used to create a "healing balm" for the senses. West translates this into sound, blending Brazilian jazz, soul, and global rhythms into an immersive experience he calls the Inner Garden. It is music designed for those looking to fade out the modern noise and find the stillness beneath the surface.
